Tong Restaurant

Dark, woody and elegant atmosphere. A little broody too. Seating is comfortable and voice is usually kept at a low hum. Good quiet acoustics. Staffs are attentive and helpful. I ordered the experience menu. It comes with the usual starter, appetizer, mains and dessert. I ordered an extra octopus leg as we were a little hungry. Generally, they were all delicious except one. Their plating, arrangement, visual representation were pleasing. The taste is fortunately not overwhelming and has a great play of flavours which are well thought of, and yummy. The menu is well designed and all the parts complemented each other quite well. The only dish I didn't quite enjoy was the steamed snapper. It was fairly ordinary and I felt outside shops can prepare it better. But it's not a fail. It's just too average to leave any impression. There is, however, a puzzling thing. When we left after dinner, there was a board with a list of dishes. This was not communicated to me. If I had known that there were other dishes available other than that stated in their menu, I would definitely have adjusted my orders accordingly. Seeing that menu board left a strange unfulfilled sensation in my palate and a sad feeling in my gut. Anyhow, it was generally a good meal except for that uninformed menu choices that would have made my experience even better.

A masterclass in personalised dining at Tong Restaurant. From the moment we ( me, my husband and son) arrived, Eugene and Shafiq set the tone with warm, intuitive service that felt more like hosting than hospitality. Every detail was considered, every interaction thoughtful. The “Experience Menu” was a layered showcase of culinary precision. Each dish was bold, balanced, and deeply satisfying. What truly elevated the evening was how they made it special for my son. No kids menu? No problem. They suggested fish and chips, which he devoured happily. And the customised dessert with his name? That little gesture made his night, and mine. Cocktails were spot-on, too. Crafted, not poured. The entire experience felt curated, not just served. Thank you, Eugene and Shafiq, for making it memorable in all the right ways.

For some celebration, I have looking for a fine dining and TONG was one in my list to be picked. When we walked in welcoming by the waiters, brought us to our reserved table, it’s so nice with the environment in it. We have ordered the package 388++ for our dining, it was superb and amazing from the way they made it. I always love mashed potatoes, so I added one side dish, it came with real truffles making me falling in love with it. Anyone who is looking for mixed Asian fine dining, it’s recommended.

We go celebrate my wife bday and order RM 388 package. 1st starter dish called Zhar Leong is super delicious. 2nd dish is sour soup and prawn, now the disappointment coming, 2pack but serve with 3pcs prawn. following 3rd and 4th dish is not surprising especially last dessert portion so small and serve in one bowl. Remember dont order distilled water with cost RM20. Overally, 1st two dish is delicious, last 2 is soso only

The staffs were attentive and welcoming, impressed by the excellent service. The food introduction was superb, with the staff taking the time to explain each dish in detail. The environment was also wonderful, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere that enhanced our dining experience. We ordered three appetizers, one small plate, and two mains for the three of us, and I must say, everything was absolutely delightful. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and each dish was a treat for the taste buds. We were quite full by the end of our meal and, unfortunately, did not have the chance to try the desserts. However, this gives us a perfect reason to come back next time. Overall, our experience at Tong Restaurant was fantastic, and we look forward to returning to try more of their delicious offerings.

Located in central Georgetown with loads of tourists. Food was simply tasty but came with a cost. Not every day dining for sure but it’s worth it for occasion. Love the Wagyu which is nicely done, chicken were tasty but not dry, scallops done to perfection and simply awesome Mendoza Malbec organic wine.

Loving the vibes here! Food was really amazing! Is literally 10/10 food! I particularly really like their Seared Scallop, soup is great, scallop was cook perfectly and the gravy of that dish is yummmmmm !! Service was on the notch, one of the lady was very helpful, and also not forgetting Wayne, he was very knowledgeable when it comes to their menu. Parking is a little bit difficult to get over there but it’s definitely worth to give it a shot! Remember to make your reservation with them too as they are quite full during the weekends especially

We have visited Tong twice, second time as an experience for visiting family. On both occasions the food and the service has been fantastic. We were looked after by Pei Li and Wayne who were both very professional and skilled in their craft, explaining the dishes and ensuring everyone was satisfied. This is fine dining so the most important aspect is the food flavour and the chefs prepared the dishes to perfection.
